2010 Goal #1: 1,000 Pages

I am setting a large 2010 goal to accomplish by the end of the year and it involves a big giveaway on my part.

I want to draw more traffic to this site (to achieve my overarching goal of living off this site alone) and one of the most effective ways to do that is to create awesome new content.

In November 2009, I did a $100 giveaway to the best story written from my 70+ pages of free creative writing prompts. The contest was awesome and I received a lot of talented submissions. I felt bad not being able to give the reward to everybody. This time around and for the rest of the year, anyone who writes something from my prompts will receive a gift.

For every page you write (every story, essay, poem or whatever you submit from a prompt), I will send you 10 personalized writing prompts. You tell me a bit about yourself and I will write new writing prompts customized for your life, style, and area of writing preference.

For every 5 pages you write, I will give you a free hour of writing and creativity coaching over the phone (or in person if you live in Chicago). I’m truly excited about doing some coaching as it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

The site currently has 174 pages and on my own I will probably reach around 200 by the end of the year. That means I am looking to get 800 submissions whether they be stories, essays, poems or whatever by December 31st, 2010. If I can reach this goal, I believe I will be well on my way to fulltime writing, acting, and blogging by the end of 2011.

All you have to do to claim your gifts is write on the site. Visit the prompts main page , pick a set of prompts and have at one of ‘em. There is no word minimum and no required subject matter.

Just write and ye shall receive!
