‘A Little Smoke and A Little Fire’
A Thoughtful Review Of The Inner Meaning of Independence Day!.........
Granted that the 4th or The Holiday is a joyous one and its nice to be off from work and to enjoy a days leisure with family and friends but after the fireworks are all done and the Barbecue is over do we take just a moment to pause and to wonder or even to reflect on the real meaning of the 4th' along with all the ‘Hard Fought’ battles our forebears fought' and not just the occasional "quarrels or difficulties" that we all experience at times in both office and shop?......
Do we ever pause a moment to remember the embattled farmers who stood musket in hand on the Concord Green, Or do we even think a moment to praise -the hero’s- at Ft. Mc Henry who were on the other end of the song line: ‘The Bombs bursting in air,And the Rockets Red glare,’ For these are good thing's for all of us to remember especially given the difficult times we live in for these "plain and ordinary people" are the one's who ‘stood the line’ and who won the day for us as without them not only would we lose not just the song but also the 'Liberties and Freedoms' we all hold hold so dear and the cost was not cheap.
Now like the rest of you I too will also enjoy my cookout and the pleasant time I spend bantering with Family and Friends for I too will certainly enjoy my day!, But in that quiet moment of private time that we all enjoy I will definitely bow my head' and tip my glass to the few who gave the all so that ''The Many'' can live in -peace and freedom'- lest we ever forget that the price of liberty and the cost of freedom are never cheap, For that is the true glory of Independence Day!.....
