I went to work today and my boss called me into his office to tell me something "very important." After I entered, I sat down, quite nervous. My boss looked at me with a huge smile and said "I have some great news for you. We've come into great success over the last year due in part to your direct contributions, and we're doubling your salary, effective immediately."
Holy cow! What a great surprise! With my new money, I'm immediately going to start paying off all of my debt with the extra cash - I'm going to continue to live as though my old salary is still in effect until all of my credit cards are totally paid off. After that's done, I plan to save at least half of my extra income each month. The remaining money will be used to go on more vacations with my family and buy some things that are needed around my house. I want to start planning a trip for my wife and I to leave the kids behind with the grandparents and spend a long weekend in Vegas - something we've always wanted to do. Now I can make it happen in a matter of months! I'm very fortunate for this raise and I cannot wait to start spending the extra money!
