My lovely routine

by Afshan Tarannum
(Hyderabad, A.P, India)

Planning a daily routine and following the same should be considered very essential in one's life. I believe in following a particular routine with negligible variations as it proves to be helpful in adding bliss in my life.

As the clock strikes five in the morning, I wake up and offer my prayers after getting fresh. This takes around 20 to 25 minutes. Thus, my day starts with the peace of mind and the love for God. Then, I lay down for some moments for meditation and wait for the call to have my breakfast. Thus, a ten minutes breakfast (remember chewing the food properly helps in better digestion) is followed by a quick glance of the newspaper or news on the internet. Then comes the time to leave for work. Revealing a bit about my profession, I currently work in an educational institution. As known to all, most of the work places have fixed timings for the lunch break. Hence there's no way I can deliberately change my meal schedules at work. Of course, there is no chance of skipping my midday meal. I'm quite particular about my stomach being filled time to time in a regular fashion. Over filling it or keeping it empty makes me sleepy throughout the day at work.

By the time I reach home after 6 to 8 hours of work, it's again the time to have my snacks - my tea time. Then I have a walk in my garden, observing the clouds and sky, watering my plants and feeding my pets (It would be mean if I don't fill my pet's stomachs). This way comes the time to offer my evening prayers where I thank God for keeping me content and happy all day long.
And yes, I love entertainment too. So then comes the time to watch some movies, songs, news, cartoons (I love watching cartoons at this age also), etc. I don't exceed this time more than two hours. And yes, while being entertained I do spend my time with my family members and talk to them on various issues.

In this way the sun sets and we have our supper or have a glass of milk. I usually complete my educational work, if any, during this time before going to sleep.
