Preparation and the Snooze Button

by Miss Emily Griffiths

The productivity tips are extremely useful to me. I like the idea of keeping my alarms far away so I am less likely to hit the snooze button. I find that repeatedly hitting the snooze button makes me more tired and less productive in the first few hours of the morning so this is a great idea to get me up. I find that during the morning it is hard to truly wake up so I have decided to have a colder shower and a bigger breakfast to wake me up, rather than having showers in the evening. I think that it would be a good idea to incorporate thinking more in to my daily morning routine.

I've decided to make daily to do lists so that I know where and when I need to be and how I will get there using public transport. I also started to use this time on my way to work to message friends to arrange plans rather than doing this during my working hours and by reading articles that I have never had the time before to read! By being more productive in the morning I would feel more ready at the start of my working day. Usually I take half an hour at work 'faffing' to get my mind in to gear but all the preparations before hand would allow me to get started straight away and get more work done. I love these simple ideas, I believe they could really help with my daily work life, for a start I can arrange meetings to start from 9am, rather than waiting till at least 10!!
