Super Duper Alarm Clock

For one brief moment I thought we were having an earthquake, as I heard the loud alarm, saw the flashing lights, and felt my bed shake.Then, I remembered it was my super duper alarm clock that was causing this early morning commotion This unique alarm clock had been a gift from my grandparents. When they found out that I sometimes slept through regular alarms, and was often late for class, they
came up with this perfect solution. I could hardly contain my surprise when I opened the gift they had given me for landing my first job. The words on the box described it as a sonic boom alarm clock with vibrating bed shaker.I thought it was a very, sweet and thoughtful gift at the time. However, this morning at 6 a.m.,I was wishing that there had been a hammer included in the gift bag. Anyway,
it served its purpose, and I was up and going.
I started my grooming routine, and chose my new red suit from my closet. I love wearing the color red. It really is true what they say about it being a power color. I always feel powerful and confident when I wear red. I certainly needed to feel both those feelings today. Today would be my first day of kindergarten. Of course, my role was now that of teacher,however, I still felt that first day of school excitement and anxiety.
Although the day went by rather quickly, I got a true picture of what my job responsibilities would require. They would not be a list of typed out statements that looked good on paper. I knew that my job responsibilities could not be written or spoken in words. These responsibilities have to come from the heart. I just hoped I was up for the task. I wanted to be a good kindergarten teacher to these young students that had been assigned to me. My benefit would be so much greater than just a paycheck.
