Her name was Elizabeth Short she was my mom's great aunt when she was a child she had always dreamed of coming to Hollywood to be a star she was a warm sensitive and very beautiful lady in fact if you was to look at my mom's pictures from when she was younger you would see how much they resemble each other.
When Elizabeth finally left home she was off to make a new start of her and her life she did keep in touch but not as much as her mom wished she did so nobody really ever knew how she was getting along or if she even made it in to making movies. Rumor had been told that she was very popular with the men and they really did love it when they spent time with her, She even in time had a nick name they called her "The Black Dahlia" and that is because she was fond of wearing black clothes, Time had went by and we had not heard from her in a long time and her mother really was starting to worry.
Then one day the call came they said that they think they had found her body and they wanted the mother to come down and see if truly it was her,Her mother did not have the heart to that that so my mom told her she would do it. So my mom and another aunt of mine went to see if it truly was Elizabeth , After the long trip there they rested that night then the next day went to go see if it was Elizabeth.
When they arrived at the place where they had to go the Police came in took them to the room and when they pulled back the sheet my mom fell to the ground and cried that's her that's Elizabeth, The Police had told her that someone threw her in a field wearing no clothing and her body was cut in half she had unmentionable things done to her and she had been tortured, It was the most gruesome murder in history at that time.
The whole point of the story is she went to Hollywood to become famous and the only thing that made her famous was her murder sad but true Elizabeth Short was "The Black Dahlia" my great great aunt and as sorry as it was to this day they still have not found who did it to her.
