Toy Time

by Armon
(Cumming, Ga)

As a child I spent many hours playing with my toys. I had a great number of adventures with my action figures, built cities out of Legos, and explored the many worlds of assorted video games. Today, I often find that the most nostalgic activities I can find involve finding my old toys or games and remembering (or sometimes even reliving) the many adventures I had as a child. I may remove old toys from storage or simply even find a small piece of some larger toy, and spend hours recounting all the fun I had with them as a child. Every once in a while, I'll replay old video games from my childhood to relive the adventures in a more vivid setting.

I have even sought to preserve some of my memories for my own children one day, by packaging up old games or Lego sets to hand down to my kids. I hope that they will one day appreciate the toys as much as I did as a child. Even more importantly, I hope that my toys actually last that long. Old games have batteries that are necessary to run, and may die over the passing years. Action figures or Legos have many small parts that can be easy to lose. In the end, I can only store them as best as I can in the hopes of passing them along to my own children one day.
