My Progress

I write a lot on this site about personal improvement but it's been a long time since I've told you about my progress. Obviously, the purveyor of tips and wisdom is not always going to be perfect in all respects and so it is with me. I've made major strides in some areas of my life while in others I'd still like to make a major push over the next few years to make up the gap.

Productivity-wise, it's been a good two years. I've now published nine different works through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords. Since I began self-publishing in August 2010, I've sold over 9,000 copies of my books though those sellers and my own website as of January 23, 2012. The biggest seller is 1,000 Creative Writing Prompts: Ideas for Blogs, Scripts, Stories and More by far and I'm hoping to get out the sequel some time this winter. The sales of my books has allowed me to put more time into Quadrant II work than ever before.

Quadrant II work is working on things that are not urgent but are important for your future development. I've been able to put more time into my health via exercise and diet. I've made productivity improvements by unsubscribing from e-mail lists and writing more quickly and efficiently. I've made more income which has enabled me to put more towards my debt and to worry less about money on a month to month basis. I feel as though some of my income gains are the result of a prosperity mindset, which I've encouraged through affirmations and prayer.

I still procrastinate, of course, and due to an increased workload lately, I haven't been able to make as much progress on my upcoming projects as I'd like. The big projects I'd like to push forward on are a collection of workbooks for students and a journal using my prompts. CreateSpace recently lowered the prices on all its proofs, which makes these paper books even better ideas than when I first came up with them. I've even hired a part-time personal assistant to help me with the files sometimes, though I'm hoping one day to get someone involved with my work on a full-time basis.

I believe that if I can release the six workbooks, the one journal and the 1,000 Prompts sequel I'm planning on getting out this season, I will be able to increase my book sales over 50 per day, which will grant me even more freedom in my fight against debt and my attempt to save up for the future. I'd also like to do a site redesign at some point and continue to build my traffic to over 1,000 people a day consistently. I know that it's all possible with continued hard work on my part. I have to become more efficient, especially in the afternoon (I'm a morning person) to increase my progress.

Here's to all of us with our goals in 2012! I hope my progress can mimic the extreme progress that you make this year on everything you want!

Happy writing!
