Talk about a time in your life where technology most hurt you.

by Mallory
(Ocala,Florida)

The invention of technology was and huge success in American society. It not only allowed people from all over the world to connect but, expanded into so many other things not imaginable. Although technology has its pros it always has it cons. With the use of the internet becoming a bigger and bigger issue people tend to misuse it and do harm to others. I learned the hard way that although the internet has its way of helping you it also can bring so much agony and pain.

It started the summer of 2011; finishing junior year was the biggest accomplishment I could have ever made. I knew the following year I was becoming a senior and a new life for me was coming into focus. I had my friends along the way and my very supportive family backing me up one hundred percent. Along the way of my year’s high school I found the people worth living for and some worth letting go. Facebook allows teens from around to connect and some misuse the issue.

When my picture appeared on A Facebook page not only was I angry I was upset. I believed that through life of course you’re going to have people in your life who may not like you for the simplest of things. I found myself wondering why me of all people this had to happen to. I found myself in an online bullying situation and it changed my all perspective on people and on the internet. I learned never to trust people online and to set my privacy settings up.

My mom’s always said people are going to talk about you so don’t let the people get to you. I’ve learned that people lie and girls especially can do the most evil things to people. The internet is a crazy world and it can lead to things unimaginable. I learned my lesson the hard way, I just other girls like me find out to.
