I have heard a lot of music in my 17 years of life, some good some bad, but when the song Enchanted by Taylor Swift came into my life it was unlike anything I had every heard before. This song is the most beautiful song I've ever heard because of the way she sings, what the song is about, the story behind the song, not to mention the instruments on it. Being a fan of Taylor for awhile I know she hides codes in her songs and the code of Enchanted was Adam, Adam Young was who she was talking about. Adam is the singer of Owl City, they met at an airport and fell in love but never got the chance to tell each other so Enchanted is her way of telling him.
Each line of the song means something different to me. The first part of the song is
"There I was again tonight, forcing laughter, faking smiles Same old, tired place lonely place Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy"
She says this because when she goes to a simple place for you and I she is mobbed. She might be sweet and kind to all of her fans but she too gets tired of it. The next line that means a lot to me is
"I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you"
This part means a lot because later on Valentines Day Adam recorded a cover of Enchanted and changed a few lyrics telling her that he was enchanted to meet her too, she didn't have to wait forever to find out he felt the same way she did.
"This was the very first page, not where the storyline ends My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again These are the words I held back as I was leaving too soon"
I love this line, she is saying even though they weren't happy they had to leave she wasn't going to let him out of her head and just give up, she was going to try to get him back, and that was what she was thinking when she was leaving.
"Please don't be in love with someone else Please don't have somebody waiting on you"
These are my favorite lines in the entire song, they show she has been hurt before because the person she has loved, loved someone else and she wanted him to be all hers.
