The Unknown

by Travis Lynch
(Ocala, Florida USA)

A technologically advanced alien race has come to Earth wanted to trade information. What new technological advances do we pick up from them and do we use them for good and evil? How does the diplomacy go with these aliens? Just imagine our life balancing on the decision of our leaders to fight or open our arms.

First, they arrived in their massive ships warping from light speed. As we all looked up in the sky we saw bright flashes and the entire world went into all out panic mode! After a few minutes everyone realized that they weren't firing at us but instead were sending a small craft. In this craft was a grand alien by the way it was dressed. He asked to speak to one of our leaders. Accepting with open arms "somewhat" our president agreed to negotiate. The alien had come offering us a new technology called the ion drive which will allow for intergalactic space travel.

Then while the president was thinking he already knew that his elite strike force was waiting for the signal to fire upon the alien at the first sign of hostility. After that it was all a blur because once the alien handed over the blueprints the strike force was instantaneously swarming the room and with one quick motion the alien was gone. Within a few minutes the bombing began as they apparently learned of our hostile actions toward the grand alien. That is when the war started....

To sum things up, the aliens offered us a new propulsion called the ion drive. But the humans are notoriously known for destruction and war. As soon as they handed over the blueprints we had to kill, kill, kill! Even if they were to give us this blueprint we would explore every planet killing anything we see or dissecting it to see what it is.
