Father's Day

My name is Jordan Maldonado from San Diego, CA and this is my story. For Father's Day we always take my dad out to a steak house. He is a very healthy person and doesn't eat a lot of fatty or sugary foods. He loves steaks and they're always healthy. We start the day with waking my dad up with cards from me and my younger brother. He reads them and smiles. Usually, my brother and I make sure we have that day reserved and set aside for my dad. After all, it's his day and we want to spend it with him to make sure he knows he is special. Sometimes my aunt will also come with us. She helped raise us when my parents were at work and couldn’t get off in time to take us to practice or pick us up from school. We head off to the restaurant, usually for lunch. We always make a toast for every outing, so this one would be to celebrate my dad for Father’s Day. After we are done eating, they always bring out dessert for special occasions like these. My brother, my mom, and I eat the dessert because my dad doesn’t eat sugary foods. After we are done at lunch, we usually just head back home and relax with my dad for the rest of the day. Since I now live 5+ hours away from home, I always make it home to spend Father’s Day with my dad. I don't think my dad enjoys all of the attention because he didn't that type of person. My dad is an amazing person and I celebrate him and appreciate him everyday. I know he knows how my brother and I feel. My dad is a very humble person. He has done great things in his life and has positively affected many people, but he does not boast about it. My dad would be happy with spending Father's Day at home out in the yard with our two German Shepherds.
