Summertime is easy in the city of Louisville, KY.
We have bourbon, which can be made into any number of delicious concoctions. Just think about a mint julep on a hot summer day. Does anything sound better? If hard liquor isn’t your thing, there are also an array of great breweries making some of the best recipes ever tasted. Grab a pint and kick up those feet.
We have horse racing. Study the racing program or bet based on your favorite name. Either way it's sure to be a blast. The Kentucky Derby is the first Saturday in May. See Celebrities, aristocrats, high society (and people who think they are), along with all other walks of life. This is also a chance to look your best, and you’ll be among the uber-thousands who have pulled out all the stops to attend. Break out that three-piece suit!
We have lakes (and boats). Don't forget the sunscreen. The best friend you can make here has access to a large boat and isn't afraid to use it! Whether you're a speed freak or more of a slow and steady eddy, you can have a great time out on the water this summer. If you link fishing, there are many competitions that appeal to this crowd.
We have great restaurants. Pizza, Barbecue, Gourmet French, Japanese, Italian, and don’t forget the Steak Houses. All of them are delicious and very accessible. The Nulu district is filled with new places that you’re sure to love. Downtown has the tried and true spots, but also is being revitalized with new entrepreneurs as well.
